We’ve all been working hard on final preparations for our upcoming trip - finishing up our training hikes, home & work projects, and packing our packs. Our hiking group (Greg, Betsy, Kevin, Kris, Tom & Chanda) has been communicating with some other TMB hikers from the Twin Cities. It’s been fun to share information and encourage each other on this hiking endeavor.

Kris and Kevin training at Carver Park on a hot summer day.
Chanda and Tom putting in some final miles at the Arboretum.
One of the best parts of having a hiking goal out “in the future” is our training gets us outside enjoying the beauty of nature! These two photos (from Chanda) show the season is starting to transition in Minnesota. It looks like the weather is transitioning in the Alps as well. After looking at the TMB weather forecast, we are adjusting our packing list slightly to make sure we have the right items for some cooler, rainy weather. We are “planning for the worst, but hoping for the best” in the weather department 😀
Finally, a big SHOUT-OUT to our instructor Stephanie and all the folks in our spin classes that Greg, Kevin, Kris, and I attend. We did out last spin class today before our trip - we told Stephanie that her “voice” will be in our heads telling us “we can do it!” when we are tackling a big climb or descent. Greg and I have become huge fans of group fitness classes as a way to motivate ourselves to work harder than I would ever by myself.
We leave on Friday night to travel to Geneva. We will start our actual hike on September 10. We will post to the blog when we have Internet (which we know from experience isn’t every day).
Thanks from all of us for your interest in our hiking adventure!
So exciting! Can't wait to see and hear about the adventure! Blessings for the final prep and the travel over!
